The Torrington Awareness & Prevention Partnership (TAPP) is a coalition of professionals, community members, and other vested individuals aimed at reducing youth substance use and abuse in the city of Torrington.
A critical aspect of our coalition is to facilitate substance abuse interventions which are:
We will actively seek out the diverse perspectives of our community, and use those perspectives to drive our work.
We will ensure that our work is appropriately tailored to best address the specific cultural needs of our community.
Our efforts will be delivered, and led, by members of this community to ensure that those most impacted by our work feel their needs are being represented.
With your help, we can create meaningful, effective, and lasting change within the community. With sustainable prevention and a keen awareness of the specific cultural needs of Torrington in mind, we can both reduce current youth substance abuse rates as well as prevent destructive behaviors from being developed in the future.
We are a partnership of individuals, organizations, and agencies from all over Torrington and the northwest corner. We purposely engage 12 identified sectors of the community – ranging from youth, to communities of faith, to healthcare professionals – to capture a diverse range of views, opinions, and perspectives.
