Our Members

Catharina Ohm is the Executive Director of the Torrington and Winchester Youth Service Bureaus a branch of the NW-CT-YMCA. She joined the YMCA on August 1, 2019. Catharina attended the UCONN School of Social Work and graduated with a Masters in Social Work (Clinical Studies) in 2007. Prior to her employment with the YMCA, Catharina dedicated 30 years to working in various positions in one non-profit agency providing residential, in-home and therapeutic day support services to more than 130 persons with intellectual disabilities.  Between 2005 and April 2019, she served as the agency’s Executive Director. Catharina is a veteran of the US Army having served 6 years between 1980 and 1986.

Catharina chairs the Interagency Service Team (LIST), a venue for community-level interagency coordination and formal communication and planning between state agencies and local communities around juvenile justice issues. Catharina is the chair of the Northwest Hills Prevention Connection, a coalition comprised of volunteers whose mission it is to promote and increase the communities’ quality of life by preventing substance misuse. She is a member of the Executive Board of the Torrington Awareness Prevention Partnership. Catharina is certified as a Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator and a Naloxone Education Trainer.
